It is being claimed that Russell's beliefs continued on for many years following his death.
1) One of the major teachings of Russell began to be denied within a few weeks after Russell died. Russell did not believe that he, or anyone else, could claim authority over the church. He preached against the kind of organization that Rutherford later created. Indeed, within a few weeks after Russell died, the word "organization" began to appear in the pages of Rutherford's Watch Tower. ctr-rlbible.com/?cat=24
2) Rutherford slowly and subtly endeavored to bring the Bible Students Association worldwide under his control. He evidently realized that he would need something to use as a "whip" to do this, thus around 1923 he introduced his "new light" concerning the second death, thus, in effect, denying the very basis of Brother Russell's main teaching on the atonement. Eventually, he denied the total scriptural basis of the ransom sacrifice of Jesus. By 1928, however, the vast majority of the Bible Students Association worldwide had rejected Rutherford's "organization" dogma. ctr-rlbible.com/?p=3204
