It is often claimed that in Jeremiah 23:5,6, the Messiah has the name of "Yahweh", and thus this means that Jesus is Yahweh.
Jeremiah 23:5 Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. Jeremiah 23:6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called: Yahweh our righteousness. -- World English.
This certainly designates a name whereby the Messiah will be called, and within that name we find the Holy Name of God. This does not mean that Jesus is Yahweh. In Jeremiah 33:16, we find that this same "name" is applied to Jerusalem.
Jeremiah 33:16 In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely; and this is the name whereby she shall be called: Yahweh our righteousness. -- World English.
