John 17:5
Now, Father, glorify me with your own self with the glory which I had with you before the world [kosmos] existed.
What is this KOSMOS that Jesus speaks of in John 17:5?

The kosmos that Jesus spoke of in John 17:5 is the same kosmos that John wrote about in John 1:10 and the same kosmos that Paul and Peter wrote about in Romans 5:12 and 2 Peter 1:4. It is the whole (all - Strong's #3956*) creation that Paul wrote about in Romans 8:19-22 (See Ecclesiastes 1). Jesus was not born of this condemned world, nor are the sons of God born of this condemned world. Jesus' flesh was specially prepared by his God so that he is not tainted with the sin of Adam. -- Hebrews 10:5.

The kosmos that God created through Jesus (John 1:3,10) has been corrupted by Adam's sin and all the world of mankind has been condemned thru Adam's sin. (Romans 5:12-19) This world [kosmos] does not refer to the spirit world, nor even to the material universe outside the world of mankind. It was this corrupted world that did not recognize Jesus. Those who did receive Jesus became sons of God, begotten again, not of this world, not of the old corrupted creation (Romans 8:19-22, but of the new creation. -- 2 Corinthians 5:17
Jesus, before the "beginning" spoken of in John 1:1, did indeed have a celestial, not a terrestrial glory, when he was with the only true God before the world of mankind had been made through him. (John 1:3,10; 17:1,3,5; 1 Corinthians 15:39-41) While he was in the days of his flesh (Hebrews 5:7), he did not have this glory, as can be seen by his words in John 17:5. He did have in the days of his flesh, the glory of a sinless man. -- Hebrews 2:9.
Jesus was glorified as a human when be became flesh (John 1:18), just as was Adam. (Genesis 1:26; Psalm 8:4-8) That glory of Adam became marred with sin. (Romans 3:23; 5:12-19) Thus, the subjection of all things to man had been delayed. (Hebrews 2:6-8) Jesus, however, having born separate from the sinful flesh, was equal to Adam before Adam sinned, and thus he could provide the offsetting price needed to redeem the whole condemned world. -- Romans 5:12-19; 1 Timothy 2:5,6; Hebrews 2:9; 1 John 2:2.
Jesus in his resurrection, was begotten from the dead, and given bodily power that he had never possessed before. (Acs 2:33; 1 Corinthians 15:45; Colossians 2:9,10; Ephesians 1:17-23; Phlippians 2:9; 1 Peter 3:18,22) However, he did indeed again recieve the heavenly glory that he had before he became flesh, and more. -- 1 Corinthians 15:39-40,45; 1 Peter 3:18,22.
