I reposting here some brief statements I made in "Is Jesus in the Godhead or is the Godhead in Jesus" group on Facebook. I have added to introductory statements:
Regarding the three phases of water (gas, water, ice) as being an analogy of the trinity:
A body of water cannot be fully in all three phases at once. A molecule of water cannot be all three phases at once.
Regarding the Creator becoming a creature:
The Bible no where ever says that the Creator became a creature. Such a thought has been imagined beyond what is written, and added to what is written.
Regarding Jesus' being shepherd:
The expression "good shepherd" in John 10 should be rendered "genuine shepherd". Jesus is indeed the genuine shepherd that Yahweh set up over his sheep. (Ezekiel 34:23,24; John 10:16) At the same, Jesus has his God and Father as his shepherd. -- Psalm 23:1.
Regarding God becoming Mary's son:
The Bible never once says that Mary's God became her son! Again, such a thought has to be imagined beyond what is written and added to, and read into, what is written. -- Proverbs 30:6; 1 Corinthians 4:6.
Regarding Jesus as the root of David:
Jesus becomes the root of David by the regeneration of David in the resurrection day; in a sense, since David became a member of the world that God originally generated through, by means of, Jesus (John 1:10), Jesus is the root of David before Jesus became Jesus, the son of the man, David. However, that generation is of less importance than the regeneration, for the latter gives eternal life to David.
Regarding Yahweh becoming a man:
The true God of the Bible cannot deny himself; He is Who He is. (Exodus 3:14,15; 2 Timothy 2:13) The Bible no where says that Yahweh became a man, defined as being a little lower than the angels. -- Psalm 8:4,5.
Regarding God being "in Christ":
2 Corinthians 5:15 He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again.
2 Corinthians 5:18 But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2 Corinthians 5:19 namely, that God was in [instrumental en -- Strong's 1722 -- by means of] Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:20 We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us. We beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Yes, the Almighty Yahweh was by means of His Son, by means of the death and resurrection of His Son, reconciling the world to Himself. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus! -- Ephesians 1:3; 1 Peter 1:3.
