1 Corinthians 15:50 Now I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood can't inherit the kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.
1 Corinthians 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
Contrary to what many have supposed, this is not saying that one's present body of flesh would put on incorruption, but rather it is speaking of the grain/seed (of the new creature in Christ -- 2 Corinthians 5:17) of 1 Corinthians 15:37,38. At first that seed, although sinless, having the image of Adam before Adam sinned (1 Corinthians 15:46-49), is still corruptible -- it could possibly be corrupted by sin -- as Adam was, which would result, not again in the death of Adam (1 Corinthians 15:21,22), but rather in the second death for which there is no more sacrifice to be offered. In order to no longer be subject to being harmed by the second death, the new creature must put on incorruption, and thus, by having proven themselves incorruptible, death is swallowed up in victory. -- Isaiah 25:8; 1 Corinthians 15:54; Hebrews 6:4-6; 10:26-29; Revelation 2:11.
