1 Peter 3:18 - Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit. -- American Standard Version.
Jesus, having sacrificed his body of flesh for sins (John 5:51; Luke 22:19; 1 Corinthians 11:24; Hebrews 10:10; 1 Peter 3:18), is now no longer a human being, a little lower than the angels (Hebrews 2:9), but the only true God (John 17:1,3) has exalted him (Acts 2:33; 5:31; Philippians 2:9; Ephesians 1:3,20) above all dominions and authorities (Ephesians 1:3,21), including the angels. (Hebrews 1:4-6; 1 Peter 3:22) Since the the terrestrial, fleshly glory is not heavenly, spiritual glory (1 Corinthians 15:39-41), Jesus is thus no longer in the days of his flesh, which was already past when Hebrews 5:7 was written.
