One of the JWs extols Rutherford for renouncing "Pyramidology" and "Christmas" and for restoring the truth that most mankind will live on the earth.
Rutherford, by claiming that the measurements of the Great Pyramid was of Satan, in effect, claimed that Satan knew of what would be in the Bible before the Bible was written. I am in general agreement with Morton Edgar regarding Rutherford's rejection of the testimony of God's Witness in Egypt.

There were those, even before Russell, who pointed out the heathen origins of Christmas. Morton Edgar, in 1919, published his treatise on "The Bible and Mythology"; as far as I can tell, this was the first time any author amongst the Bible Students movement ever presented the heathen meanings behind Christmas. Some of Edgar's works were printed, I believe, in The Golden Age magazine. Building upon what Edgar had written, Rutherford sought to use this as a means to bolster his "organization" dogma. Edgar himself, however, rejected Rutherford's "organization" dogma.

My own conclusions regarding Christmas:

As to restoring the truth that most of mankind will live on the earth, Russell knew of this long before Rutherford. Brother Russell wrote of his understaning the restitution promises sometime before 1874. Russell insisted that his understanding of the restitution promises be included in the book, "The Three Worlds". The book, The Divine Plan of the Ages, many times shows mankind's restoration to the eath.
