The word pastor means shepherd. The one whom the Most High Pastor (Psalm 23:1) has appointed as Pastor over the whole flock is Jesus. -- Exodus 34:23,24; John 10:16.
Concerning Christ, we read:
He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds [pastors] and teachers. -- Ephesians 4:11.
These do not describe offices that are appointed by the church, but rather of the abilities that are given to various ones of the church. In a way, the work I do fits the term pastor, shepherd, but more specifically, I would say that most of what I do is that of a "teacher" or an "evangelist."
