My comments: In this, I am in general agreement with the Vatican official. It is not sin to be tempted by a desire to steal — it is a sin to give in to the temptation to steal; it is not a sin to be tempted by a desire to commit fornication — it is sin to give into that desire; it is not a sin to be tempted by a desire to lie — it is a sin to give in to that desire. Likewise, it is not a sin to be tempted by same sex desires; it is a sin to give in to those desires.

Nevertheless, I do believe that this is one of the issues by which imitation Christians are being revealed as such. -- Matthew 7:16,20; 13:30.
